Bronx, NY — On August 12th, ICE announced that Jose Chajon-Raxon had died at Delany Hall nearly a month earlier, reportedly after suffering a medical emergency. Andre Easton, candidate for New York's 15th Congressional District, issued the following statement on August 13th:

“On August 12, Jose Chajon-Raxon became the third person to die while detained at Delaney Hall. More than 50 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office.

“ICE has $85 billion at its disposal to detain our neighbors in horrific conditions. Defund and abolish ICE.
