Mississippi Attorney General Rules June Shooting of One-Year-Old Kohen Wiley “Justified”
October 22, 2026
Senatobia, MS — On June 14th, one-year-old Kohen Wiley was shot and killed by the police. On October 22nd, the Mississippi Attorney General ruled the shooting “justified.” Andre Easton, father of three and congressional candidate for NY-15, released the following statement:
“Justice for Kohen Wiley and all victims of police violence. Prosecute Hunter Foster. In June, one-year-old Kohen Wiley was sitting on his mother’s lap in a car in a Walmart parking lot when Senatobia Police Officer Hunter Foster shot and killed him.
“Kohen should be filling his family’s home with joy and laughter. His family deserves justice, and they deserve a country that values Black lives.
“On Monday, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced that Foster’s use of force was justified, meaning he will not face criminal charges for killing a baby.
“As a father of three Black boys, I am disgusted by this injustice. Once again, the state of Mississippi has shown that it does not value Black lives and does not believe Black children deserve to grow up.
“End the war on Black America. The whole system is guilty! As Malcolm X said, ‘You can’t have capitalism without racism.’
“We must end the capitalist system that allows police and ICE officers to act with impunity, terrorizing our communities and killing our children.”
